1. How do I join the Academy?
Every player must first undergo a Mandatory Performance Evaluation. We do not accept open registrations to ensure our training environment remains high-intensity and that every player is placed in the correct pathway (Elite or Development) for their current ability.
2. Is the Evaluation really free?
Yes. We believe that elite talent should be identified based on merit, not a fee. Our goal is to maintain the integrity of our squads, so we offer the initial 60-minute diagnostic session at no cost to serious athletes.
3. What is the difference between the Elite and Development Squads?
The Development Squad focuses on technical "re-wiring" and building a professional foundation. The Elite Squad is a strictly limited group of 12 players focused on advanced tactical cognition and high-speed match transitions. Placement is determined solely by our technical staff.
4. Where do the Private 1-on-1 sessions take place?
Our private coaches are mobile. We can conduct sessions at your home or a local park/pitch that is convenient for you. This allows elite training to fit seamlessly into a dedicated athlete’s busy schedule.
5. What happens if it rains?
We train in the rain. Professional football does not stop for weather, and neither does our development. However, in the event of extreme lightning or safety hazards, sessions will be rescheduled. For Private Coaching, we will coordinate a makeup time that suits you.
6. Can my child move from Development to the Elite Squad?
Absolutely. We constantly monitor progress. Our "Promotion System" is merit-based; as soon as a player demonstrates they have outgrown the Development curriculum, they are considered for an Elite Squad vacancy.
7. What gear should my child bring?
Players should arrive in full football attire: boots, shin pads, and a water bottle. We recommend a "Professional Mindset"—arriving 10 minutes early to prepare mentally for the session is expected at Matej Soccer Academy.
8. How does the selection process work?
Our selection process is a 4-stage diagnostic designed to identify technical and cognitive potential. To ensure the highest training standards, all players must be evaluated before placement.
